There is no flaming Torchwood

Again, based on a recommendation, we've been watching the BBC's Torchwood. It's a funny mix of a soap opera, situational comedy, crime investigation, and something on HBO without all the angst in the references to "alternative" sexuality. It's told from the perspective of a welsh woman with the sexiest gap in her teeth - a modern Lauren Bacall. Awkward at times, but we're just getting started so hopefully it will smooth out. So far no cattle mutilations, but all kinds of crazy alien technology.

Life on Mars

A canadian friend cued me in to Life on Mars - a fabulous detective/cop show that has all the elements of the X-files without the aliens. A & I are watching it when we have time - and totally loving it. Sadly, the BBC blocks access to viewers in the US, but Canadians are part of the UK and have no problem watching it. The clown-doll girl really creeps me out, though.
