Carabou's sister Linda invited the family down to their ranch outside D'Hanis to shoot skeet. Not ever having done such a thing, I was understandably excited. You might have read about our adventure to Cabela's to get the shells and some skeet.

Clee and Topher joined us for the early morning drive down to the ranch and a great day of shooting, "fishing", family and good food.

By now we all know that they built a monsterous outdoor recreation store down in Buda. It is another in the Cabela's growing collection of retail stores around the US.

Carabou, Clee, Topher and I are going on an adventure this weekend to learn how to shoot. I have never learned how so this is pretty exciting for me. So, we decided that the best place to purchase the shells we need for the shotgun would of course be... How did you guess.

True to their promise, the place is huge. It has something for everyone, from hunting equipment and attire to housewares and children's toys. It was quite the experience, but I have to admit that I was a bit taken aback by the large displays of stuffed animals all over the place. This would not be a place for somebody who would be greatly affected by evidence of death to visit.
